Welcome to 2nd Shot - Second Chance for Military Veterans!
2nd Shot helps veterans and their families. We have 3 objectives:
1. Helping military veterans (of all ages) succeed in civilian life. This includes help dealing with PTSD (and other stresses), gaining life skills, and discovering their path into their future.
2. Helping their families understand and deal with their veteran.
3. Teaching vets and families the skills necessary to hold their families together and become role models in their communities.
Currently, most of our work is focused on the people participating in the Spokane Veterans Court in Spokane, Washington. Through helping them, we are rebuilding our community from the inside out. Additionally, we help veterans and their families from all over the country. 2nd Shot is a team of therapists and counselors who possess a passion for giving vets a - second shot.
What does 2nd Shot mean to you? Vets are taught to meet problems head-on. In the civilian world, that's not always a good approach. Sometimes, that proactive approach results in the destruction of personal relationships, or worse. It could result in the vet finding him/herself in jail. There is a smarter way to deal with civilian life! There's a more effective way to take ownership of the stress. We're it.
That's where we come in. We provide training, coaching and a host of resources to vets. We have seen that many vets suffer from different forms of stress. That, in turn, affects their families, and eventually it hurts the entire community. The solution is the eliminate or reduce the stress. We have extensive backgrounds in reducing stress. We use conversation, journaling and "guided imagery" to teach you the skills you need to get past the stress.
In this way, we help them (you?) take their best shot at their civilian lives. For more information, contact Mike Lovas, our founder at: michael@2nd-shot.org

| This book will teach you how to read people very effectively and very quickly. When you read the person in front of you, you'll know how to make a stronger connection with that person. |
This book will teach you
how to demonstrate your credibility and make yourself more likeable. You'll learn the processes and skills that make likeability and credibility possible! And, we'll give you the research! |
This is perhaps the most logical approach to building rapport you'll ever read. This is also the one skill set that most vets lack. Learn these simple skills and you will do better in every interview or conversation for the rest of your life |
